This year’s Grand Prize goes to Canopy Roofing for their breathtaking installation using CertainTeed’s Belmont shingles in Black Granite on a steeply pitched mansard roof in Miami. This project not only met the standards of the competition; it redefined them.

Architectural Contrast: The dark, richly textured Belmont shingles provided the depth and dimension of natural slate, creating a dramatic and elegant contrast against the flat, white top sections of the roof and crisp, white stucco exterior walls. This color and material pairing amplified the architectural features of the home, creating a bold and balanced visual statement.
Aerial Precision: The entry photo – a stunning drone shot – captured the entire structure from above, revealing the symmetrical precision of the rooflines and centered entryway. The aerial perspective offered a comprehensive view of the craftsmanship involved and the clean, uniform installation throughout the complex roofline.
Visual Depth & Detail: Belmont shingles are known for their slate-like appearance without the weight, and Canopy Roofing’s installation demonstrated how those details shine when applied to a high-slope project. From ridgelines to edge detailing, every section was meticulously aligned.
